Power generating floor
Imagine yourself as a self generating powermachine. You go to catch your train and walk through the gate or walk in your office building entrance or walking through the entrance of shopping mall. And imagine in all these scenarios you are producing electric power to help in lighting or cooling the station or your office building. Now that’s my way of contributing to green earth. I am sure we can think of other applications that relates to our walking habits whether would be at home or out of home. The idea is to generate power as we walk on a flooring surface no matter where it has been installed. This idea has been developed by Mr. Kohei Hayamizu CEO of “Onryoku Hatsuden Co.”. The vision was to generate an efficient energy source through “Power Generating Floor” by utilizing “Resonance energy form. This form of energy is created when we walk across the floor. This plan was under development since 2003 by the company and still at the experimental level. An experiment was conducted for few month at Tokyo station to test its durability and efficiency in generating power. The system does not need any other supporting equipment so it is also a perfect solution for places where there is a need in auxiliary power source. The first place I would think of is a hospital or a clinic where extra electricity will become handy in saving patients lives. Now wouldn’t it be nice idea to build our highways and roads this way so as we drive our cars we would generate electricity and some how our cars can use these electric powers at a electric stations at the highway exit. Making highway owners a new entrant to Electric Power business. Or at the house hold level you can save extra generated power and save it on a grid and sell it to you power company or share it with your neighbours.Uhmm, I better stop here. Looking forward to your comments and ideas.
