Fiber Beam display by IDEC Corp.

IDEC Corporation a company with a long corporate history which goes back to 1945 with manufacturing and sale of switches has developed a Fiber Beam display a rear projection type display that uses resin optical fibers as its transmission media. The newly defusing screen provides a wider viewing angle than current rear projection screens in the market. The new display is modularized so the screen size can be adjusted according to the installation site and image media. The newly developed screen has a high quality light transmitting properties and brightness plus an enhanced selective diffusion which is vertical to OPF (Optical Plastic Fiber). The adjustment of luminance of the screen can be achieved with an appropriate light flux value by selecting an appropriate projector and adjusting its luminance. The dispaly was woven by using polyester fibers as wrap and OPFs as woof. Use of optical fibers as image transmission media ensures the longevity of screen and its image quality. The IDEC has already gone to volume production on this new display.
