Rohm high image quality IC for portable AV equipment
Rohm early this month unveiled its newly developed IC chip the BU1521GVW for AV equipment capable of converting SDTV image signals to HDTV format. Targeted for portable devices requiring greater number of functionality, the BU1521GVW comes with a built-in IP conversion circuit along with multiple image filters.The product was developed based on a unique arithmetic algorithm solution enabling a high image quality without using frame memory. The BU1521GVW converts the images to HD format by inserting the image in the pre stage section of the HDMI output block in the existing systems. In comparison to current IC package unit the BU1521GVW is to reduce the mounting area by 81% and the number of pins by 30% making it among the smallest in this industry.
