Development of Portable X-ray measurement system

April 30, 2009 · Filed Under Green Tech, Trendy Products · Comment

X-ray measurement systems now days are used in many applications such as medical diagnostics, inspection of industrial products, and security checks at airports, and etc. Currently in many X-ray systems cathode needs to be heated via a heater or a filament in order for it to emit electron which in turn will hit the anode part resulting in EMISSION OF X-ray. However, it takes sometime for cathode to warm up to a required temperature resulting in a continuous power consumption even when there is no X-ray generation. Another issue with such system is the heater or filament degradation caused by current conduction over a long period of time. Read more

An unprecedented wireless remote controller “Magic Ring” by DENSO

April 24, 2009 · Filed Under Coffee Break · Comment

Developed by Denso Corporation a leading automotive electronics supplier in Japan “Yubinya” is a magic ring capable generating electric current. By just using your thumb and index finger while wearing this “Magic Ring” on the index finger, you can open the car door or control volume of audio player remotely.
The “Yubinya” has a face of a cat with a diameter of 3 centimeters and a thickness of?centimeters. Since there is an apparatus that generates electric current inside of this “Yubinya”, while you keep fingers untouched the current remains inside of the ring, but when you press your fingers together the current flows from the index finger to the thumb. Then the sensor inside of the ring detects the current and sends to the device a control order remotely. Denso is planning to put “Yubinya” into practical use by reducing the size of “Yubinya” making it less noticeable. Denso’s planed release of “Yubinya” is within three years time period. “Yubinya”?is not really made for people who pick their nose too often which may result in tones of opening and closing doors that could cause some headaches. Something for Denso to consider.
