Light emitting poster by Dai Nippon Printing
This newly developed light emitting poster by Dai Nippon Printing (DNP) combines both the inorganic as well as organic EL panel technology. The inorganic EL panel is responsible for emitting high luminance white light and the organic EL panel is responsible for scrolling the displayed text information. The new light emitting poster is resistant to vibration and impacts and emits light even when it is bent which provide flexibility in installing it even on a curved surface. Further to this lower power consumption of the inorganic EL panel which is about 60% of that of a fluorescent light offers a low running cost according to the company. Additionally, the organic EL panel will offer a reduce burden of maintenance due to its lifetime of up to 20,000 hours plus it has a wide viewing angle and a light weight. The new poster can be designed at various sizes and shapes. Dai Nippon Printing (DNP) is planning to commercialize this poster by April of 2010. DNP is also planning to deliver the text information to this poster through a network plus providing voice functionality to the poster. The new light emitting posters will be targeted for sales promotion media, point-of-purchase advertising (POP) and digital signage according to DNP.
