Fujitsu made an announcement on availability of its new compact, light weight UHF-Band RFID tag targeted for work uniform management as well as other applications. The newly developed RFID tag in addition of being waterproof is heat, pressure and chemical resistant. Furthermore, the new tag s 40% smaller and 50% lighter by weighing only 1 gram plus it is more flexible than its predecessor. The initial deployment cost for the new tag has been reduced by 40% since it can be attached to garments and other textile product through simple ironing and using a thermal adhesive in contrast to the previous tag that needed to be sewed to the garments. One of the key features of this newly developed tag is that they can be read from a long distance away allowing for simultaneous readings making the virtualization of inventory status fast and efficient. Its durability goes as far as withstanding the entire cleaning process of washing, drying, and ironing for at least 200 times. The product is available immediately.
