Launch of Secure Print Solution by Fujitsu
As part of fulfilling 2005 Japan’s enacted Private Information Protection Law in leading to adoption of measures aiming at preventing information leaks, Fujitsu announced the launch of Secure Print Solution an update to its SafeValue security solution lineup which was released on May of 2008. Taking advantage of smart card technology, the new solution is designed to prevent paper based information leaks and at the same time contributing in reduction of printing costs. The new Secure Print Solution is comprised of Fujitsu’s Interstage Print Manager and Fujitsu Advanced Engineering Limited’s EcoGate Print for Print Manager software, and a smart card reader. VEDA International Robot R&D center made an announcement on development of what the company calls the Universal Vehicle. RODEM which is in category of its own is designed to provide a freedom of movement for elderly and physically challenged people. Development of High Speed Potable Polisher for Optical connectors by NTT-AT
NTT AT (Advance Technology) has developed a high speed potable polisher targeted for filed assembly as well as re-polishing of optical connector in optical network installation and/or its maintenance. The battery operated POP-311 is capable of re-polishing SC/FC connector in 80 seconds and polishing MU-Type connector in 90 seconds. The POP-311 high polishing quality is equivalent to that of factory use polisher. It comes in a form factor if 90 w × 75 d × 212 h mm and weighing 830 grams.

Launch of new Multi Service Access Node by NEC
NEC Corporation in conjunction with NEC Magnus Communications announced the launch of new Multi Service Access Node (MSAN) AM3100 series equipped with VDSL2 interface in compliance with ITU G.993.2 standards. The new VDSL2 standard will further extend the reach of the copper wire to 4 km in comparison to maximum 1km of VDSL1 standard. The new standard offers compatibility with ADSL/ADSL2+ through product’s ADSL fallback function provide an easy migration to VDSL from the existing systems. The new product provides a 24 and 48 bidirectional transmission speed of 100Mbps (30MHz) per port with a uplink connection between telephone exchange equipment and optical fiber network can be either GPON (Gigabit Passive Optical Network) or Gigabit Ethernet.
