Collecting your garbage in an environmentally friendly manner is as important as creating them. This is all part of CO2 footprint life cycle. To make this happen Mitsubishi Motors will supply its lithium batteries from its new generation electric vehicle (EV) i-MiEV to Kyokuto Kaihatsu Kogyo Company that owns the garbage collection trucks. Release of High-Brightness and Performance Projector by Sanyo

Sanyo today unveiled two new high-brightness and high-performance projectors. The LP-XM150 offers the highest brightness in its class at 6,000 lumens and the LP-XM100 at 5,000 lumens. Sanyo targeted these projectors to be used in large rooms or lecture halls. The newly incorporated optical engine uses an inorganic liquid crystal panel to ensure high reliability. The highest brightness has been achieved through use of newly developed optical engine plus a superior cooling technology. Development of Clear-coat paint with self-storing qualities by Toyota

Toyota Motor Corporation today mad an announcement on development of highly scratch resistance clear coat paint soon to be used in company’s Lexus LS model. The newly developed paint is highly resistance to surface scratches which is resulted by repeated car washes. One interesting characteristic of this paint unlike the conventional clear coat paint is that it is self restoring when it is deformed resulting in prevention of luster degradation helping with prolong new car color and gloss plus no special maintenance. Release of New LED AQUOS LCD TVs by SHARP

Sharp today unveiled its new LX series “LED AQUOS” LCD TVs into the Japanese market. The four models namely the 60V-inch, 52V-inch, 46V-inch, and 40V-inch incorporates Sharp’s proprietary UV2A photo alignment technology which was announced by Sharp on September 17th of this year. Development of new sensing technology for measuring body movement by Fujitsu

This new sensing technology was co-developed by Fujitsu and Mr. Kajiro Watanabe, the president of Sensing Control Lab Co., Ltd. and a professor at Hosei University in Japan. The newly developed sensing technology is capable of accurately measuring the body movement of a person carrying a sensor equipped mobile phone. The first application was in analyzing the golf swing in ETGA Swing Lesson. Through the use of the mobile phone’s built-in sensors, the application will gather motion data and then fed these data to a 3D motion sensing engine for analysis and assessment of the path of the user’s golf swing and provide advice based on set rules and a professional advice. Panasonic just made an announcement on development of 50-inch size full high definition 3D plasma display panel plus a high-precision active shutter glasses which company claims will bring the true to life 3D images to your living room. The new PDP display has been developed based on Panasonic’s world first full HD 3D plasma Home Theater system which was developed and unveiled back in 2008 which was comprised of 103-inch PDP and Blu-ray Disc player. Why Panasonic decreased the size of its display, well according to the company it seems to be the most popular size for the home theater system. The newly developed PDP comes with Panasonic’s high speed 3D drive technology with capability of rapid illumination of pixels while maintaining the brightness; it also has incorporated the crosstalk reduction technology aimed at reducing the image ghosting which occurs when left and right eye images are alternately displayed. PDP were selected as the display technology due to their self illuminating characteristics with full motion picture resolution capable of fast response time making them ideal for display of fast moving images. I guess use of scrap woods or so called surplus woods is becoming a technology trend coinciding with thinning tree activities in maintaining healthy forest. This is my second post on this subject. It all started with Mitsubishi’s announcement on development of new plastic resin from the surplus cedar wood. This follows with today’s DOCOMO announcement on development of mobile phone prototype made of surplus wood of trees culled. Well only the exterior body of the phone is made of wood. The new prototype was developed in corporation with Sharp and Olympus Corporation as well as with the collaboration of “more trees”, a reforestation project which is founded by musician Ryuichi Sakamoto and others.
