Sony’s plan to bring 3D viewing Experience to home by 2010
It does not come as a surprise to hear Sony’s today’s announcement in bringing 3D viewing experience to home viewers through arrays of products after the BDA (Blu-ray Disc Association) recent decision to include 3D format into the Blu-ray disc format making blu-ray the platform in delivering 3D contents due to its high capacity bandwidth. However, success of 3D market rest on the production and screening of movies in 3D ensuring the marketability and expansion of 3D compatible products where the 3D compatible screen is expected to reach 7000 unit by the end of 2009.
Sony’s vision to make 3D viewing experience a reality comes with a plan to incorporate 3D capability within company BRAVIA LCD TVs as well as VAIO and PlayStation products.
Sony’s 3D compatible “BRAVIA” LCD TVs will incorporate frame sequential display and active-shutter glass systems a method of 3D display whereby the television set alternates the image between the left and right eye, and glasses open and shut in sync with the image on the screen, together with Sony’s proprietary high frame rate technology to enable the reproduction of full High Definition high-quality 3D images forming the centerpiece of Sony’s 3D entertainment experience at home to ensure the enjoyment of 3D viewing from multitude of ways from 3D movies to stereoscopic 3D games.
