Development of New Temperature-Compensated Crystal Oscillator by Epson Toyocom

October 8, 2009 · Filed Under Trendy Products

Epson Toyocom made an announcement on development of new TCXO (Temperature-Compensated Crystal Oscillator) with an OCXO (oven-controlled crystal oscillator) class frequency/temperature coefficient of ±0.1 × 10-6, helping the network equipment manufacturers with their power and space saving requirements. The new TCXO has been designed to satisfy the high accuracy requirements for frequency/temperature coefficient of ±0.1 × 10-6 or better for reference clocks which are used in ultra-compact cellular base stations for home as well as office use. The new TG-5500CA crystal oscillator has been equipped with a QMEMS crystal plus it features frequency stability characteristics resulting in quality of transmission, such as temperature tracking which describe the characteristics of changes in frequency versus steep changes in the temperature outside a device and frequency fluctuation which is a slight short term variation in the frequency of an oscillator. The new TG-5500CA crystal oscillator will become available in December of 2009 with a commercial development scheduled for March 2010.
