Sales of New Non-isolated Point-of-Load dc-dc Converters by FDK
Targeted to fit a wide range of telecommunications, data communications, computing, industrial as well as consumer applications where broad space, Cost, profile, efficiency and reliability of operation in high temperature environments are critical; FDK a leading global electronic component and battery manufacturer made an announcement on development of two new non-isolated, high density, low profile, Mini POL dc-dc converters. The new surface mount converters delivers up to 8 Amperes of output current at power density of up to 1150 watts per cubic inch with efficiency of up to 93%. The new converters operate from a 5.6V dc to 14.0V dc input bus with a tightly regulated, programmable output voltage of 0.8Vdc to 6.6Vdc. This new DK Series converters offer a complete power conversion solution without any needs for external input/output capacitors. The FPDK12SR8008PSV and the FPDK12SR8008PSS converters feature programmable output voltage, remote ON/OFF, over-current and over-temperature protection, a power good signal, and start up into a pre-biased output. In addition to these features, the FPDK12SR8008PSS converter comes with output voltage tracking function. For the shipment of 1,000 pieces the FPDK12SR8008PSV and the FPDK12SR8008PSS are priced at $6.20.
