Super tiny Monolithic Ceramic Capacitor by Murata

October 30, 2009 · Filed Under Trendy Products

Miniaturization of mobile devices and introduction of new advanced functionality on such devices making the available surface board real-estate on them rather scarce, forcing the component manufacturer to come up with a ever smaller form factors component design. One such device is capacitor for mobile devices which have been increasing faced with reduction on their mounting space requirements. But manufacturer of capacitance need to reduce the size of capacitance while maintaining their large capacitance capability. To address this need among the mobile market, Murata Manufacturing has commercialized a 1005 size (1.0 x 0.5mm), 10 ?F monolithic ceramic capacitor. The new model basically offers the same capacitance as the previous model but with 75% reduction in volume. The voltage rating for the newly developed capacitance is DC4V. The new capacitance is in its mass production stage.
