Introduction of Children’s Mobile Phone by KYOCERA
Japan being a relatively safe country to live in, currently has been hit with number of unsolved and gruesome child murder cases which shocked the whole nation. In the country where children can walk freely and safely from school to home in absence of school bus services, these type of crime has alerted many parents to take every measures in insuring the safety of their loved ones. One such measure is the introduction of location base tracking technology which can be embedded in child school bag for easy tracking of their activity and whereabouts.
Based on this technology Kyocera has unveiled its latest child mobile phone with location base tracking technology. The “mamorino” which company calls them was developed for “au”. The new mobile phone is equipped with GPS tracking with a unique feature which allows the phone to place outgoing calls and texts to pre-programmed contacts. The mamorino comes with a simple design which does not include a full number keypad. It comes with an LCD screen, 3 one-touch keys, a call-end key, front jog wheel and an action key. In addition to location tracking feature which allows parent to monitor child’s location at any given time plus a location alert feature which allows the child to easily inform their parent of their own location, the new hand set comes with an emergency alert that projects a loud alarm. Furthermore in the event of an emergency a special service allows the emergency alarm to automatically notify security company such as SECOM. The newly developed mamorino is intended for children under 10 years of age. The hand set is available in Yellow and Blue color. The new hand set has a water resistance feature rated at IPX5 and IPX7.
