November 17, 2009 · Filed Under Green Tech, Trendy Products

Sanyo made an announcement on launch of two large lithium-ion battery system models. The new battery system (DCB-101) is designed to be easily integrated into the existing systems as part of hybrid schemes using solar cells to store electricity generated by wind power or for electrical output stabilization where as, the new (EVB-101) for Electric Motors can be used to power light electric vehicles that are in the R&D or small scale mass production stages. The newly developed products would enable several dozen to several hundred battery cells to be used in one system. The company has developed parallel and series battery control technologies for the basic components of the new products. This technology is capable of managing information concerning battery discharge and remaining capacity which can be transmitted to the usage device as it is needed. The release date for both battery systems is March 2010 with initial monthly production of 500 units for each system.
