Release of Low Profile Back Flip Lock Type FPC Connector by KYOCERA
Kyocera Elco made an announcement on release of a low profile and space saving FPC connector with the dimension of 1.1mm high and 3.85mm deep, designed for consumer electronics such as Notebook PCs, DSCs, DVCs as well as game consoles. The new Series 6843 is a 0.3mm pitch, right angled, back-flip locking ZIF type connector which is best suited for the internal connection in electronic equipment requiring a small area for the FPC to be laid. Furthermore, the compatibility of FPCs and pad pattern for existing series 6296 connector (Bottom contact type) results in a less restrictive pattern wiring during the design phase. Among some of the features of new FPC connector is its ability to retain in the entry even when the actuator is open resulting in an improvement in workability during the assembly process, plus nickel plated area on the contact prevents solder wicking. Furthermore, the actuator which makes contact with FPC is located on the opposite side of the FPC insertion slot resulting in an easy operation of the actuator which does not open by the external stress applied with the FPC laid. The new FPC is packaged in tape and reel for automatic mounting machine, 2000 pieces per reel. The new FPC’s rated current, voltage and D.W. Voltage are DC 0.2A/contact and DC 50V/contact AC 200 Vrms/min respectively.
