Installation of MINEBEA’s 6-Axis Force Sensors in a Next Generation ROBOT
The Power Loader with robotic arms and legs capable of following human limbs movement is considered as a next generation type robot. It assists individual with heavy load type work through increases of the forces that are applied to its control grip by a magnitude of few dozen helping to lift the heavy objects through operator’s intuitive senses. Activelink the developer of Power Loader is working toward commercializing this next generation robot for such application as construction, disaster rescue operation, etc.
Minebea’s developed 6-axis force sensors have been incorporated into the wrist and ankles of the Power Loader helping the Power Loader to instantly and accurately detect the volume and direction of forces that applied by its operator. Minebea’s sensors feature the Minebea’s proprietary optical pickup system and are equipped with high speed processing DSP for interference correction and digital filtering. Furthermore, it provides a direct connection to sequencer microcomputers, not a personal computer, resulting in greater flexibility in system design.
