Development of 55-inch Professional Grade Display for Audio Visual Industry by NEC
NEC Display Solution America made yet another addition to its digital signage product line up, by introducing a 55-inch P551 professional grade P Series targeted for AV as well as digital signage market. The P Series also provides 40-inch P401, 46-inch P461, 52-inch P521 and 70-inch P701 for digital signage industry, such as airports, public information, rental and staging as well as healthcare centers. The new display offers twice the refresh rate in comparison to other competitive displays, while reducing blur occurring in fast moving images with a 120Hz setting. It comes with wide range of inputs including DispalyPort, HDMI, DVI-D, 5 BNC in/out (RGBHV, DVD/HD, and composite video), as well as RS-232 and Ethernet connectivity, which can be used for remote monitoring, control and e-mail notifications for diagnostic purposes. Furthermore, P551’s integrated expansion slot enables users to connect to variety of peripheral devices such as single board computer, DVI daisy chain module or internal HD-SDI as well as additional P551.
The P551 features various eco-conscious functionality such as ambient light sensor for consistent brightness, regardless to surrounding lighting conditions as well as carbon footprint meter for tracking and measuring the conservation of green gas emission. Among some of the key features on this new display are; 1920 x 1080 full high-definition resolution, 3000:1 contrast ratio, brightness of up to 700 cd/m2, real-time clock and built0in scheduler, built-in IP tuner allowing users to stream content up to 1080p directly to the display, AmbiBright, enhanced video wall capabilities to name a few. The new P551 will be available for shipment commencing August 2010 at an estimated retail price of $3,499.
