Development of “Emboss Look G2”, a Surface Processing Technology by Toppan Printing

Toppan Printing has announced the development of Emboss Look G2, a surface processing technology using gravure printing plus a specially developed thick, clear varnish by creating the same glossy finish visual effects on a paper cartons as enamel coating. The process does not require embossing using a mold. The new technology makes it possible to create a texture feel on a paper carton that is twice as high as the previous Emboss Look technology.
The new processing technology will be used in various fields including food, snacks and cosmetics. The company is targeting sales of 100 million JPY for fiscal 2011.
