Industry’s Smallest Signal Processing IC Chip by Panasonic
Panasonic has developed an inertial sensor signal processing IC chip bearing the world’s smallest form factor, measuring only 2mm on each side. The compact design was achieved through development 1.8V 110nm BiCMOS with industry’s minimum design rule, requiring only half the surface area of the high precision analog circuits. Sensor processing ICs are responsible for amplifying faint signals outputted from a sensor and convert them to electrical signals depending on the inertial force.
The new chip comes with built-in AD converters providing an easy connection to the latter stage LSIs as well as flexible design using digital rather than analog output signals. The small form factor makes it ideal for use in mobile products as well as gaming products.
