Development of Shielded FFC Connector with High-Speed Transmission Capability by SMK
SMK has release EN-5D Series of 0.5 mm-pitch shielded FFC connector supporting high speed transmission. N-ZIF structure of this newly introduced EN-5D Series offers a easy insertion of FFC with only one action. Furthermore, the product FFC fall-out prevention mechanism guarantees greater operability and reliability. The new product adapts to high speed serial transmission such as LVDS (Low Voltage Differential Signaling) and TMDS (Transition Minimized Differential Signaling) (HDMI (High Definition Multimedia Interface) ).
Shielded FFC simplifies the impedance matching, while signal and ground layers are provided in the compatible cable. The connector is covered with a metal shield for improved ground performance (EMI prevention). The application of the new EN-5D Series ranges from AV equipment to automotive equipment as well as office equipment.
