Development of 8-Page Thermal Computer to Plate Models by Dainippon Screen
Dainippon Screen has announced the release of PlateRite HD 8900 series, an 8-page thermal Computer to Plate (CtP) models. CtP equipment uses laser light image edited digital data directly onto printing plates, where it’s wide spread use has already made it to become the standard method of plate making in many industrialized countries. The top model among these models, the PlateRiteHD 8900Z, features an ultra-high throughput of more than 65 plates per hour (i.e. one plate per minute).
In addition to this by combining high-precision halftone dots with a 4,000 dpi output mode, the new series is capable of producing photo quality printing. Further to this, the new series supports 3D printing in 3D lenticular output mode. The PlateRite HD 8900 series can handle various press machines in the market through their handling of different plate sizes from 304×305 mm to 1,165 x 950 mm. Sales of this new series will begin internationally in April 2011.
