Development of a New UHF Band-type IC Tag Card for Easier Gateway Control by DNP
Dai Nippon Printing (DNP) has come up with a new UHF band IC tag cards that solves the problem of lower sensitivity in communication which happens due to presence of moisture such as perspiration by its users. The UHF band IC tag enjoy relatively a better communication distance, longer than the ones offered by LF and HF bandwidths, making them ideal for variety of gateway control situations for humane as well as automobiles.
The newly developed IC tag card is capable of maintaining the line of communication even when it is inserted in user’s pocket. The new IC tag has been developed in such a way that UHF band are not affected by moisture. The Tag also comes with a new antenna format capable of maintaining a solid communications even when the card is closely attached to the human body. Due to these feature it is no longer necessary to wave the card over a reader when entering or leaving offices of factories, the IC tag will works while is in user’s pocket. The UHF band frequency is 950MHz and the communication distance is from 1 to 3 meters depending on how the card is being carried in pocket or not. The cost of each tag is 500 JPY based on 5,000 unit lot (excl. Taxes). DNP will market the new IC tag apart from educational and medical institution and factories to system integrator operators handling security system.
