Panasonic has announced the development of world’s smallest, slimmest, highest definition 20-inch IPS Alpha LCD Panel. The new 20-inch 4K2K display has industry’s highest pixel density of 216 pixels per inch and thickness of only 3.5 mm. Panasonic is showcasing the new LDC panel during the CES 2012 in Las Vegas. IPS Alpha panels are ideal for making ultra-high definition displays due to their simple pixel structure, since the pixel division will not play a role in improving the viewing angle, making the pixel aperture ration high.
IPS panels’ other characteristics include their high contrast ratio, excellent color reproducibility as well as excellent color reproducibility with rich gradation plus industry’s highest-level light transmission rate implemented by Panasonic based on company’s unique IPS-Pro technology. The new Display features a new liquid-crystal molecular orientation process technology for further improving orientation performance of the liquid crystals in a plane parallel to the TFT (Thin Film Transistor) substrate.
