World’s Fastest Inkjet Printheads by KYOCERA
Kyocera has announced the development of two new inkjet printhead products, the KJ4B-Y for water based ink and the KJ4A-B for UV-curable ink. Both printheads offer industry’s fastest print speed. The KJ4B-Y offers a high resolution printing combined with a print speed that is approximately 1.3 times faster than company’s existing products, by ejecting ink for up to 40,000 times per second at 40kHz drive frequency from each ink nozzles. This would result in higher speed and resolution printing for large volume printing jobs with individualized data such as invoices and statements in a short period of time using water-based ink which is suitable for paper printing.
On the other hand the KJ4B-Y offers high resolution printing and high-speed which is approximately 1.5 times faster than Kyocera’s current products, by ejecting ink up to 30,000 times per second at 30kHz drive frequency from each ink nozzle which results in around 80 million drops per second from a printhead with 2,656 nozzles. The KJ4B-Y will be ideal for wide range of commercial products such as label printing for plastic and glass bottles as well as containers using UV-curable ink which enables printing on non-absorbent materials including films and plastics. The company is expected to produce 1,000 units per month (total for both types combines).
