Development of Highly Reliable Electric Double-Layer Capacitors for Power Supply Backup Application
Murata Manufacturing has announced the mass production of the DMG Series of highly reliable electric double-layer capacitors which has been designed exclusively for SSD backup applications. The new series offers a low resistance and excellent long-term reliability at high temperatures all with in a super thin package. The low ESR (equivalent series resistance) of 70 milliohm to 130 milliohm enables a high current and high output charging and discharging.
In addition to this, it offers a operating temperature range of -30 to +85 degrees Celsius and long term reliability of 5 years at 70 degrees Celsius. The main applications for the new series include, SDD backup, smart meters, power supply backup for communication systems as well as energy harvesting to name a few.
