Fujitsu’s New 8-bit Microcontroller with Built-in Capacitive Touch Sensor and Controller Functions

June 26, 2012 · Filed Under Trendy Products

Optimized for touch key and touch panel applications in electronic systems and household appliances, Fujitsu’s new 8-bit microcontroller comes with built-in capacitive touch sensor and controller functions. The new power efficient microcontrollers feature built-in 36KB flash memory as well as timer and communication functions that are useful both for general purpose applications as well as peripheral circuits such as A/D converters and analogue computers. The new series of microcontroller employ Adjacent Pattern Interface Suppression (APIS™) as well as Automatic Impedance Calibration (AIC™). The new microcontrollers feature built-in CR oscillating circuit (running the operating clock), low voltage detection circuit (detects voltage drops) as well as analogue comparator (with reference voltage) eliminating any needs for an external oscillator, reset IC and operational amplifier, resulting in reduction of external components. The microcontrollers are fitted with industry leading high performance flash memory capable of 100,000 write/erase cycles. In addition to this, a flash security function protects the customer’s software from access by unauthorized external programs.
