Development of Sensor Modules featuring Industry’s Smallest Micro-Vibration Power Generators
In a collaborative effort among Asahi Glass (AGC), OMRON, Konishiyasu Co. and THHINK Wireless Technologies JAPAN LTD, AGC has announced the development of sensor modules which are equipped with world’s smallest micro-vibration power generation. The new sensor technology would eliminate any needs for wiring to supply electric power to the sensor unit as well as any needs for battery replacement and other type of maintenance issues, due to the fact that the new sensor’s power requirement is generated through its small-sized power generator based on micro-vibration power generation converting small vibration into electrical energy.
One of the key materials in this micro-vibration power generation is CYTOP™, an amorphous fluorine resin which was developed and manufactured by AGC. CYTPO will help to increase the electrical output of micro-vibration power generator by at least tenfold in comparison to conventional materials.
