Industry’s First Solvent-Based Fluorescent Inks for Wide Format Inkjet Printers
Seiko Instrument Infotech Inc. (SIIT), for the first time in the world has launched two new neon inks for its ColorPainter W series printers. The new inks will expand the application of the printer into night graphics, or blacklight graphics in the night clubs, casinos, laser tag facilities, bowling alleys, arcades to name a few. The neon inks are available in two colors, Neon Yellow and Neon Pink, which are used along with the ColorPainter GX ink set. Neon inks can be printed as “Spot colors” as well as traditional CMYK “Process color”. Mixing the two neon colors with other colors also gives fluorescent effect to the other colors, creating a wide range of interesting and unique colors.
The printed image comes with a special vividness under the normal lighting anf it glows under black lighting. The neon inks will be supplied in 500ml cartridges and are only compatible with the ColorPainter W series printer when configured with 6 print heads. The new color will be sold through SIIT channel partners worldwide in late summer of 2012.
