Development of Weather and Wear Resistance Resin Glass for Automobile Application
Dai Nippon Printing (DNP) has developed a hard coat transfer film with exceptional weather and wear resistance. The resin glass is capable of reducing ultraviolet light which causes discoloration and deterioration. The new resin glass has been developed based on EB technology which makes it more scratch resistance in comparison to polycarbonate resin which has been used for generic products.
The newly developed product is made of plastic making it approximately half lighter than glass while maintaining the sale level of transparency as glass. DNP will market the new resin glass for such applications as railway carriages, construction equipment, automobiles and buses with an aim for total sales of 1.0 billion yen by 2017 fiscal year.
