LED in rescue of sluggish Electronics market
LED has enjoyed a market grow of 10.8% in 2008 to be followed by 2.9% in 2009 thanks to the rising demand for the new LED backlight LCD TV. In contrast to this overwhelming success the overall semiconductor market will see a decline of 9.4% in 2009 making LED a lone star in the sluggish semiconductor market. According to the prediction by iSuppli Corp. the LCD TV market will demand for US $ 163 million worth of LEDs which is more than three fold increase in comparison to the 2008 of US$51 million. This post brings me back to last year Eco Products event in Tokyo where I visited booth of a company by the name of SANWA NEWTEC CO. where I saw various printing equipments on display. After few questions I found out that at least one of the printers on display is a rewritable printer which company calls it “PrePeat”. The company is located in Miyazaki Japan and it claims they developed this product in 2003. Read more
DC power supply a logical answer to reduce power loss
Existing home versions of solar power systems usually convert generated DC power into AC using a power conditioner and supply it to homes. However, because many home appliances currently convert AC into DC by using an AC adapter, power generated by solar cells is being converted twice first from DC to AC and then from AC to DC and as a result even with conversion efficiency of 90% roughly 20% of the generated power is wasted due to this double conversion.
