Achievement of High Capacity of 109 Terabit Per Second Optical Fiber Transmission by Japanese Researchers

Group of researchers at National Institute of Information and Communication Technology (NICT) have succeeded in transmission of 109 Terabit per second (Tbits/s) optical signal using a new class of optical fiber. The experiment was done in collaboration with OPTOQUEST and Sumitomo Electric Industries. The result is the world record, exceeding the previously set record at 69.1 Tbit/s. Read more
