Hitachi Maxell brand new “iV” recorder with a built-in Digital Tuner
Hitachi Maxell unveiled their new iV recorder “VDR-R1000” with built-in digital tuner.
“iV recorder” is suitable for use with any TV for recording/playing a program, and the same time it has benefit of increasing the storage capacity by just adding a removable media “iV”. The newly developed “VDR-R1000” has a compact body of 230mm in width X 41mm in height X 170mm in depth which is smaller than B5 size. The “VDR-R1000” will support “acTVila” from fall of 2009, even for TVs which do not have capability of accessing “acTVila” site, allowing them to view contents from “acTVila”. Read more

Two new Blu-ray recorders by Sony with networking capability
The two new Blu-ray recorders from Sony are not your average Blu-ray recorder. The BDZ-A750 (320GB) and the BDZ-A950 (500GB) come with networking capable features. The new recorders are capable of exporting their recorded programs both from the terrestrial digital/analog, BS digital and 110° CS digital broadcast as well as the content from the Tsutaya TV and acTVila VOD services which are available in Japan to a Sony’s portable music player “Walkman” and portable game console “PlayStation Portable (PSP),” etc via USB. Sony just made an announcement of its new line up of BRAVIA LCD TV the W5 and F5 series. The real big difference between W5 and F5 series beside some choices on LCD panel size is the W5 dual digital TV tuner and F5 single digital TV tuner feature. The W5 series comes in 3 models the 52, 46 and 40 inch size LCD panel where as the F5 series comes in 46, 40 and 32 inch size LCD panel. Read more
