Development of Sensor Modules featuring Industry’s Smallest Micro-Vibration Power Generators

In a collaborative effort among Asahi Glass (AGC), OMRON, Konishiyasu Co. and THHINK Wireless Technologies JAPAN LTD, AGC has announced the development of sensor modules which are equipped with world’s smallest micro-vibration power generation. The new sensor technology would eliminate any needs for wiring to supply electric power to the sensor unit as well as any needs for battery replacement and other type of maintenance issues, due to the fact that the new sensor’s power requirement is generated through its small-sized power generator based on micro-vibration power generation converting small vibration into electrical energy. Asahi Glass Company otherwise known as AGC has announced the development of non-electric glass door for freezing showcases for the first time in Japan. The new glass was developed based on the request from convenience store chains, to help them further in saving in electricity. The new product in WINDOOR® E series is deigned to conserve energy as it prevents the formation of dew condensation without use of electricity.
