Development of High Voltage Resistance USB Audio Decoder ICs by ROHM
Rohm has released New USB audio decoder ICs BU9457KV:MP3 and BU9458KV: MP3, WMA, AAC, featuring +/- 6kV ESD resistance at the USB terminal. The high voltage resistance eliminates any needs for external solution for resolving surge noise, such as protection diodes, resistors as well as ICs, resulting in reduced required parts, simplified design and contributes to a smaller form factor. Development of USB host audio decoder ICs by ROHM
ROHM has made an announcement on development of USB host audio decoder ICs targeted for audio players compatible with MP3, WMA, ACC audio compression formats. The new ICs have a high ESD resistance characteristic suitable for car audio application which requires a surge characteristics as well as home and portable audio devices. Up to now there were no decoder ICs that featured protection circuit which is there in preventing malfunctioning which is due to presence of noise from the wiring and nearby devices which have necessitated the need for terminal protection ICs and surge protection diodes and resistors in devices that are exposed to harsh environments.
