Development of a Lithography System using KrF Excimer Laser for High-Volume Production of Memory
Canon has announced the launch of a new FPA-6300ES6a KrF scanner for high volume production of memory, logic as well as image processing devices. The new FPA-6300ES6a KrF scanner has a high throughput along with industry’s highest level of overlay accuracy for effectively responding to manufacturers of chip seeking reduced cost of ownership. The new FPA-6300ES6a KrF scanner has a newly designed reticle stage and wafer stage capable of accelerated exposure processes which significantly reduces exposure times. Read more
Release of Cinema EOS System, Canon’s New Professional Digital Cinematography System
Canon has announced the release of Cinema EOS system, company’s new professional digital cinematography system. The new Cinema EOS system includes seven new 4K EF Cinema Lens models including four zoom lenses covering a wide zoom range from 14.5 mm to 300 mm, two models each for EF and PL lens mounts and three single-focal-length lenses for EF mounts. All lenses are compatible with 35 mm equivalent sensors. Launch of New Semiconductor Lithography Tool Incorporating TSV and Bump Process by CANON
Canon has announced the release of company’s first back-end semiconductor manufacturing tool, the FPA-5510iV for next generation 3D semiconductor packaging. The new semiconductor lithography tool accommodates the industry’s Through Silicon Via (TSV) as well as Bump processes, where multifold increases in memory capacity, high-speed data transfer, and reduced power consumption in a smaller layout area would become possible. Due to the reason the resist film that is being used in the TSV and Bump processes is relatively thick, the FPA-5510iV is equipped with an optimized Numerical Aperture for the thickness with a pattern size of one to several tens of microns, where it can achieve small and deep vertical holes in the thick resist. Canon and Oce unveiled their first jointly developed multifunctional digital production press, since Canon’s announcement for its plan to acquire Oce back in 2009. The newly development digital production system has been build based on Canon’s imagePRESS C7010VP series of color multifunctional presses, delivering high-quality, high-resolution imaging performance, with an aim to reach offset printing while boasting high productivity. Release of Newly Developed Ophthalmic Instrument with Enhanced Operability by Canon
Canon has announced the development of ophthalmic instrument, a new non-contact tonometer with built-in pachymeter for fully automated measurement of intraocular pressure (IOP) as well as corneal thickness (CCT) for both eyes. The built-in pachymeter calculates a corrected IOP values based on data gathered on corneal thickness. Read more

Canon has introduced its first compact cassette size Digital Radiography (DR) systems. Back in 2010 Canon introduced its first wireless DR systems featuring an optimal operability, high resolution and high quality imaging. The newly introduced developed compact wireless DR system features a light weight (approximately 2.5 kg) design with form factor of only 307 (w) x 384 (d) x 15 (h) mm. The new DR system offers an exceptional portability making it idea for use in such discipline as orthopedics, requiring X-rays of hands, elbows, feet and knees in high frequency or during the examination of newborns. TAMRON Introduces the World’s Most Compact and Light Weight 15x Zoom Lens
Tamron announced the release of 18-270mm F/3.5-6.3 Di II VC PZD (Piezo Drive), the world’s most smallest and lightest 15x zoom ratio lens, featuring a 62mm filter diameter, VC (Vibration Compensation) image stabilization and company’s first standing wave ultrasonic motor system for SLR lenses, plus a Piezo Drive (PZD).The new lens (model B008) measures only 88mm in length and it weighs only 450 gram. The new PZD offers the user silent, high-speed auto focus, with minimum focusing distance of 0.49m throughout the zoom range and a maximum magnification ratio of 1:3.8. Read more
Release of Cloud based Office Printing System by Canon
Canon has announced the introduction of Scan and Print for imageRUNNER ADVANCE, a free of charge application which allows the Canon imageRunner ADVANCE multifunction office system to directly access cloud services form the device without any needs for a PC. The new system is based on MEAP (Multifunctional Embedded Application Platform) technology which allows the user to scan paper based documents and directly store the scanned data on a cloud service without a PC. The stored data can then be accessed by a PC, handheld device or smart phone, and simultaneously share the data among multiple users regardless of location. Read more
Development of Industry Biggest Bio-Based Plastic to be used for Exterior of Office equipment
Canon Inc. and Toray Industry made an announcement on successful development of world largest bio-based plastic part to be used in exterior of multifunction office equipment systems. Canon will be using the part in its multifunction office systems for production printing. Bio-based plastic usually suffers from moldibility and other flow characteristics, plus stiff requirements for mechanical strength and high level of flame retardant, making them difficult to be used in exterior parts. Release of World’s Largest CMOS image Sensor by CANON
Canon has released industry’s largest CMOS image sensor. The new sensor has a chip size measuring 202 x 205 mm. According to Canon the expanded size brings about the capability of greater light gathering, where it can capture images in 1/100th the amount of light required by a professional model digital SLR camera.
