Canon has announced the release of Cinema EOS system, company’s new professional digital cinematography system. The new Cinema EOS system includes seven new 4K EF Cinema Lens models including four zoom lenses covering a wide zoom range from 14.5 mm to 300 mm, two models each for EF and PL lens mounts and three single-focal-length lenses for EF mounts. All lenses are compatible with 35 mm equivalent sensors. Canon has announced the release of company’s first back-end semiconductor manufacturing tool, the FPA-5510iV for next generation 3D semiconductor packaging. The new semiconductor lithography tool accommodates the industry’s Through Silicon Via (TSV) as well as Bump processes, where multifold increases in memory capacity, high-speed data transfer, and reduced power consumption in a smaller layout area would become possible. Due to the reason the resist film that is being used in the TSV and Bump processes is relatively thick, the FPA-5510iV is equipped with an optimized Numerical Aperture for the thickness with a pattern size of one to several tens of microns, where it can achieve small and deep vertical holes in the thick resist. Tamron announced the release of 18-270mm F/3.5-6.3 Di II VC PZD (Piezo Drive), the world’s most smallest and lightest 15x zoom ratio lens, featuring a 62mm filter diameter, VC (Vibration Compensation) image stabilization and company’s first standing wave ultrasonic motor system for SLR lenses, plus a Piezo Drive (PZD).The new lens (model B008) measures only 88mm in length and it weighs only 450 gram. Canon Inc. and Toray Industry made an announcement on successful development of world largest bio-based plastic part to be used in exterior of multifunction office equipment systems. Canon will be using the part in its multifunction office systems for production printing. Bio-based plastic usually suffers from moldibility and other flow characteristics, plus stiff requirements for mechanical strength and high level of flame retardant, making them difficult to be used in exterior parts.
