Development of 16:3-aspect, 19.2-inch Color TFT LCD Module by Mitsubishi Electric
Mitsubishi Electric made an announcement on development of 19.2-inch TFT-LCD module with 16:3-aspect, designed to enable a broad range of display and design solution for wider-format module such as kiosk display, information monitors, gaming and other entertainment applications. The new model, AA192AA01 comes in a form factor of 496.5mm (W) x 109.2mm (H) for the display of 16:3 ratio images (1920 x 360) pixels. Furthermore, the incorporation of white LEDs has allowed the newly developed module to achieve a minimum backlight lifespan of 60,000 hours at the room temperature (25 degrees Celsius). Read more

Japanese Kimonos with their elegant design and breathtaking colors, that just recently lost its interest among the young generation Japanese women due to its high cost and need of expert to simply wear them, not to forget their restrictiveness in movement and burden of taking care of them. Having said this, traditional kimono by no means disappeared, where its form and use have been somehow redefined in Japanese modern life. One contributing factor in Kimono’s market success is the replacement of silk by synthetic material to overcome their laundry problem and at the same time designers have introduced new fabric designers allowing kimono to be worn regardless of the age of individual’s age. Development of 12.1-inch XGA Color TFT-LCD Module by Mitsubishi
Mitsubishi Electric today made an announcement on development of 12.1 inch XGA color TFT LCD module featuring a reduced size and thickness of 10% and 20% respectively in comparison to the previous model. The new AA121XL01 offers a high brightness of up to 1,000 cd/m2 plus a longer backlight life through incorporation of white LED and its inverter-less construction. The minimum backlight lifespan is 60,000 hours at the 25 degrees Celsius. Additionally, the inverter-less construction helps in eliminating any needs high-voltage inverters resulting in lowering the final product cost. Read more
Desalinization of saline soils by ice plant (Mesembryanthemum crystallinum)
Here is a new idea that you might consider including in your everyday diet plan. The research group of the Faculty of Agriculture of Saga University in Japan will start conducting desalinization of saline soils in China by using “ice plant (Mesembryanthemum crystallinum)” which has characteristic of absorbing salt through its root. The Ice Plant an annual plan of the Aizoaceae family is native plant of South Africa. Through its natural process, the ice plant absorbs sodium chloride from the root then accumulates the sodium into bladder cells of stem and leaf. On average 1 kg of ice plant is capable of absorbing 14g sodium as result resisting dryness. The ice plant is known as “Barafu” a naturally grown salty vegetable.
