Hamamatsu silicon photodiodesHamamatsu made an announcement on development of world’s first commercial silicon photodiodes featuring enhanced infrared sensitivity in the near-infrared region from 950 nm to 110 nm in comparison to the conventional silicon photodiodes. The enhanced infrared sensitivity was achieved through use of company’s proprietary laser processing technology designed to produce sensitivity boosting micro-structures on the silicon surface, ideal for producing various type of inexpensive and easy to use silicon detectors with enhanced infrared sensitivity. Commercial development of Tuning Fork Crystal for Automotive Application by Epson Toyocom

Epson Toyocom Corporation has made an announcement today on commercial development of FC-13A which is a tuning-fork crystal featuring operating capability at temperature of around 125 degrees Celsius targeted at automotive applications. The output frequency of FC-13A is 32.768 kHz and it only measures 3.2 x 1.5 mm with a maximum thickness of 0.9 mm with operating temperature range of -40 to 125 degrees Celsius.
