Murata Manufacturing has released a low profile surface mount type rotary position sensors measuring only W11mm x L12mm x T2.1mm. Rotary position sensors are used more and more in automobile application such as air conditioning air flow as well as other consumer electronic devices to detect the rotation (angle) of the switches, and their increasing use in such devices has forced the manufacturers to lower their cost of such sensors.
