Introduction of a New High Power Isolated Quarter Brick DC/DC Converter by FDK
FDK Corporation made an announcement on release of new isolated quarter brick dc/dc converters, a new addition to company’s Sensei Series. The new FPQR48T5R050 converter offers 50 A of output current (250 Watts) with excellent thermal performance. The new converter is designed for Intermediate Bus Architecture (IBA) as well as Distributed Power Architecture (DPA) in the field of telecommunications, data processing, computing and storage demanding a regulated 5V distribution bus. The new FPQR48T5R050 converter operates from 36Vdc to 75Vdc input, while providing a tightly regulated 5Vdc output with an efficiency of over 92.5%. The standard feature of the new converter include input under-voltage lockout (UVLO), output over-current protection (OCP), output over-voltage protection (OVP), over-temperature protection (OTP), remote output voltage sense ,plus output voltage trim using industry standard trim equations, meeting the basic insulation requirement of EN60950 b featuring input to output dc isolation of 1500Vdc. Introduction of New Power MOSFET Products by RENESAS
Renesas Electronics has released three new power MOSFET products, the RJK0210DPA, RJK0211DPA, and RJK0212DPA, designed for DC/DC converters that area used in such application as general point-of-load, base stations, computer servers as well as notebook PCs. The new power MOSFET are capable of controlling the voltage conversion circuits of the CPU and memory, like being used as a step-down circuit for converting the 12-volt voltage supplies by a battery to 1.05 V for use by CPU. The new products achieve approximately 40% lower figure of merit (FOM), on-state resistance times gate charge in comparison to the company’s existing products, resulting in reduction of power loss during the voltage conversion.
