Development of Driver Recorder IC by Epson

Seiko Epson today made an announcement on development of a controller IC designed specifically for drive recorders. We are all familiar with the black box on board the airliners to provide specific data after a crash. The newly developed IC by Epson does exactly that for the vehicles providing ability to record in real time and store data for extended periods of time ensuring the exact time of an accident is recorded without a miss. The new S2S65A30 controller features Source image correction function for lightness/darkness providing sensitivity to light conditions and time of day as well as JPEG decoding for on-site playback capability.
