Kyocera has announced the development of industry’s fastest label printing system with record of 80 meter per minute. The newly developed KVL-G3 Series is a LED-UV curing printing system, a printing method that hardens and fixes the ink in inkjet label printing with use of irradiation of ultraviolet (UV) rays. In addition to this the new system consumes 70% less power thanks to using LEDs instead of conventional lamp (metal halide) product. Read more

Data transmission on commonly available wireless equipment such as Bluetooth or wireless LAN devices is taking care of by sensor node, data such as physical information on temperature, humidity, or stress or personal ID information and statistical type of information which needs to be read by a Bluetooth or wireless LAN transmitter, which are incorporated into the sensor node. This operation needs as much as several tens of mW at a peak power consumption for the sensor node, requiring sensor node to run on a battery which requires periodic maintenance for battery replacement, not to mention an increase in overall size of sensor node. The size and need for maintenance impose limitation on the locations, where the sensor node can be installed. To overcome these technical difficulties, Renesas Electronics has developed a new sensor node technology that enables battery-less operation while making it possible to build a system comprised of commonly used wireless communication devices. Here is something to consider for all the environmentally minded Hollywood Celebrities, during the next Academy Wards, or we all should switch to the new term of rolling the Green carpet instead of red one. Well, this 100% recycled green carpet by Teijin was fabricated of PET (Polyethylene Terephthalate) bottles made entirely of Teijin Fiber’s ECOPET polyester fiber. The new green carpet will be rolled out during the Tokyo International Film Festival which will be held from October 23rd to 31st. The carpet which is actually comprised of three 90cm wide strip would cover a area of 200m long by 2.7m wide, stretching from one of Tokyo’s most glamorous street Keyakizaka-dori to the Roppongi Hills shopping and event complex where the film festival will take place. Here is a wonderful Eco friendly product developed by a Japanese company TRIM CO. LTD out of Okinawa ,Japan. The company has come up with a new way of dealing with recyclable glasses. The company turns the recycled glass into a Supersol by first crushing it then backing it and finally turning it into a light porous foamed material. The Supersol depending on its specific gravity can be used in multitudes of applications such as greening, insulation, horticulture, water purification as well as in architecture and civil engineering.
