Panasonic has released a compact high efficiency power supply circuit with industry’s lowest DC resistance (36 milliohm). The new power chock coil is suitable for large current applications as well as for Electronic Control Units (ECUs) for gasoline, HEV and EV vehicles. The new power chock coil comes in a form factor of L 5.0 mm x W5.5 mm x H4.0mm a 40% reduction in comparison to the current model. It offers low loss, improving the efficiency of power supply, enabling an increase in the number of ECUs and control functions, in addition to simplifying circuit design for heat dissipation as well as other features. It also offers a heat resistance of 150 degrees Celsius /2000h and vibration resistance of 5 Hz to 2 kHz/15G. The mass production will being in October of 2013.
TDK-EPC has introduced new power inductors for automotive applications. The new VLM13580-D1 and DR SMD power inductors come with extended operating temperature range of -40 to +150 degrees Celsius as well as increased rated current of 20 A (max.). This is a new series of multilayer ceramic capacitors (MLCC) with C0G temperature characteristics and a rated voltage of 50 V by TDK-EPC. The new MLCC are 60% smaller than existing products offering a same capacitance. The new products with three times the capacitance of existing TDK MLCCs, has the industry’s highest capacitance in the 50 V rated voltage range of C0G. Read more
