Development of Energy Saving Elevator Technology by Mitsubishi Electric
When it comes to energy saving only a few individual will ever think of Elevator system, but in fact operators of tall buildings and large facilities have shown strong interest in elevator system that can help in reduction in energy consumption. Most multi-elevator control system, however offer a trade-off between passenger convenience and energy saving feature, since manufacturer’s main concern in designing such system is in reducing passenger waiting time, which eventually can lead to increase in energy consumption by the elevator system. Based on this need, Mitsubishi Electric Corporation made an announcement on development of a new multi-elevator smart-control technology capable of reducing energy consumption by up to 10% in comparison to current elevator systems, helping building owners to cut energy consumption without sacrificing individual convenience.
