Toppan Printing has just gone one step ahead of computation by introducing an environmentally friendly biodegradable card that come with embedded plant seeds. As the name suggests, the card is made of paper (Kami in Japanese), bearing seeds ( tane in Japanese) inside of it. These are the regular paper based cards that usually used as gift cards or section of mobile phone SIM cards that are tread off and disposed, adding ECO feature to already available KAMICARD®. Production of Environmentally Friendly High Purity COF2 Gas for manufacturing LCD Panels by SDK

High-purity fluoride gases are used in etching thin oxide/nitride films in production of LCD panels. The COF2 (Carbonyl Fluoride) for example decomposes by way of hydrolysis into hydrogen fluoride (HF) which is easy to dispose of in comparison to typically used nitrogen trifluoride (NF3) and SF6, resulting in reduction in disposal cost and less environmental impact. Introduction of Carbon Fiber-Reinforced Plastics in Lexus LFA

Toho Tenax, the core company of the Teijin Group’s fiber business, made an announcement on use of its carbon fiber reinforced plastic (CFRP) in various component of newly unveiled Lexus LFA, Lexus “F” premium sports car series by Toyota during this year Tokyo Motor Show. The CFRP will be used in total of 65 percent of the Lexus LFA’s cabin resulting in 100 kilogram of weight reduction in cabin weigh in comparison to aluminum made cabin, while maintaining high rigidity required by the manufacturer.
