Seiko Epson has made an announcement on release of new 16-bit microcontroller with a built-in driver, optimized for use in small and medium sized segmented electronic paper displays (EPDs), like E-Ink SURF™. EPD is a fast growing market thanks to huge demand for products such as e-books. EPD offers a high contrast, flexibility, image stability as well as low power consumption, making it ideal replacement to liquid crystal display in many segmented display applications. World’s First Separable Mobile Phone by Fujitsu will hit the Japan Market
Fujitsu has announced that its newly developed F-04B, the world’s first separable hand set will be available from NTT DOCOMO from March 25th. The unique concept of F-04B will allow the user to separate the display part from the keyboard units, resulting in a freedom of sending e-mails or other search related tasks while talking on the phone. The touch screen display allows it to operate independently form the keyboard, providing a flexibility for user in its use. Read more
