Release of AQUOS Quattron 3D LCD TV by SHARP
Sharp announced the release of all-in-one Aquos Quatrron 3D LCD TVs. The two new models in LB series come in sizes of 52V and 46V with built-in Blu-ray Disc recorders. The LCD panels in the LB Series use Sharp’s four-primary color technology, developed by the company based on its UV2A technology, where the yellow color is added to RGB primary colors for better utilization of light and providing a brightness approximately 1.8 times greater than conventional three primary color LCD panels. Additionally, the new TVs are equipped with a new Quattron Pure Mode capable of automatically optimizing the high-definition images to match the four-primary-color technology. The built-in 3D-compatible Blu-ray Disc recorders are compatible with BDXL, a new format for multi-layer recordable Blu-ray Discs, capable of recording up to approximately 87 hours of high definition TV programming in extended recording mode. SHARP Unveils its 3D Compatible AQUOS Quattron LCD TV based on Four-Primary-Color Technology
Sharp has developed the four-primary-color technology based on company’s proprietary UV2A technology, a new technology that adds yellow to the RBG (red, blue, green) primary colors, resulting in dramatic improvement in picture color quality.Through use of this technology, the company has significantly improved the light utilization efficiency contributing to reduced power consumption by approximately 10% in comparison to previous models with UV2A technology.
