More than a year after introducing industry’s first fully-integrated, 3D camcorder, the AG-3DA1, Panasonic has introduced a simplified and affordable high-quality 3D production system , the AG-3DP1, a 3D twin-lens P2 HD shoulder-mount camcorder with high quality 10-bit 4:2:2 independent-frame, full 1920 x 1080 resolution AVC-Intra recording. The new 3DP1 features two pairs of 1/3 inch, full-HD 2.2 magepixel 3-MOS imagers with enhanced sensitivity and a 20-bit Digital Signal Processor capable of full production quality images. Following the foot steps of its not too distance away predecessor AG-3DA1, the 3DP1 incorporates stereoscopic adjustment controls for enhanced usability and operability. The adoption of twin-lens in 3DP1, allows the convergence point to be adjusted, followed by capability of automatically correcting horizontal and vertical displacement, all done without any needs for external equipment, resulting in immediate 3D image capture, contrary to conventional 3D camera systems where require PC or external video processor for these sort of adjustments to be made. Development of Industry’s First Thin-Film Common Mode Filter featuring High Speed Differential Transmission Common Mode Noise Suppression and ESD Protection in a Single Component
TDK-EPC has successfully developed the world’s first thin-film common mode filter featuring both high-speed differential transmission common mode noise suppression and ESD (Electrostatic discharge) protection all in a single component. The new filter has a form factor of (1.25 x 1.00 x 0.60 mm3), using the proprietary thin-film circuit formation and materials technologies. Successful addition of ESD suppressor function to the already existing EMI (Electromagnetic interface)function in this newly developed filter has helped to eliminate any needs for additional varistor for ESD suppression, resulting in reduced number of components and mounting area, as well as further miniaturization of mobile devices. Canon’s New POWERSHOT Digital Cameras
Canon has unveiled six new additions to its PowerShot digital camera product lineup. All new digital cameras featuring Optical Image Stabilization with use of the DIGIC 4 Image Processor, resulting in increased performance levels, improved signal processing speeds as well as enhanced image quality. The new Canon PowerShot G11 Digital Camera comes with a 10.0-Megapixel High Sensitivity System and a 5x Optical Zoom lens with Optical Image Stabilization. The new Canon PowerShot G11 also comes with a 28mm wide-angle lens. The new G11 features a 2.8-inch vari-angle PureColor System LCD which is a new additional feature to the G-series providing an easier on-camera previewing and reviewing of images from nearly every angle, but at the same time incorporating the optical viewfinder. JVC’s new 3D liquid crystal display
Japan Victor Company (JVC) has unveiled its new 46-inch professional 3D LCD which will be targeted for business use. The GD-463D10 has a resolution of 1920 x 1080 and by use of polarized filters the GD-463D10 is capable of reproducing 3D images viewable by wearing a pair of dedicated circular polarized glasses. The GD-463D10 through use of Xpol polarizing filter method allocates right and left images respectively to the odd- and even-numbered lines and then displays the images through its polarizing filters. Rohm early this month unveiled its newly developed IC chip the BU1521GVW for AV equipment capable of converting SDTV image signals to HDTV format. Targeted for portable devices requiring greater number of functionality, the BU1521GVW comes with a built-in IP conversion circuit along with multiple image filters.The product was developed based on a unique arithmetic algorithm solution enabling a high image quality without using frame memory.
