Alps Electric made an announcement on development of new magnetic sensor featuring industry’s longest detection distance. Magnetic sensors are the essential components in most home appliances capable of detecting a change in the open/closed state of cover or doors in such products as refrigerators, washing machines and microwaves to name a few. The magnetic switch will allow the appliance to stop and restart operation and turn its light on or off, a valuable feature in terms of energy conservation and safety and overall customer convenience.
