Release of High Contrast, High Resolution, Wide viewing angles TFT-LCD Modules for Industrial Application The new modules features a combination of suer-wide 170-degree horizontal/vertical viewing angles, high resolution, 500/600/1000 cd/m2 high brightness, 1000:1 high contrast ratio, -30 to 80 degrees Celsius operating temperature range, and 100,000 standard hours of LED backlight life. The sales of the new module will begin in August 1st through Mitsubishi Electric offices worldwide.

Seiko Epson has made an announcement on release of new 16-bit microcontroller with a built-in driver, optimized for use in small and medium sized segmented electronic paper displays (EPDs), like E-Ink SURF™. EPD is a fast growing market thanks to huge demand for products such as e-books. EPD offers a high contrast, flexibility, image stability as well as low power consumption, making it ideal replacement to liquid crystal display in many segmented display applications. Mitsubishi Electric has announced the launch of a new 9-inch color TFT LCD module in quarter high definition (QHD) (960 x 540) format, horizontally and vertically. The QHD format provides an easy conversion from Full HD, making it ideal for such application as video monitoring for broadcasting. The new module is due for launch on December 1st, 2010. The new module features high response speed, super-wide viewing angles of 170-degree as well as high contrast of 1000: 1, requirement by broadcaster in producing high definition videos. Read more
Launch of “Diamond Vision OLED” Industry’s First Large-Scale Organic Light Emitting Diode Display System by Mitsubishi Electric
Mitsubishi Electric has released world’s first large scale display system in the 100-inch and above which uses light emitting diode (OLED) as its light source. The new “Diamond Vision OLED” features Mitsubishi’s newly developed video controlling technology, delivering seamless, vivid images. The new display features wide horizontal and vertical viewing angles reaching approximately +/- 80 degrees, with maximum brightness of 1,200 cd/m2 and high contrast which is twice as the other LED products, making it ideal for installation in relatively bright area like commercial facilities, stations and airports.
