Release of High Contrast, High Resolution, Wide viewing angles TFT-LCD Modules for Industrial Application The new modules features a combination of suer-wide 170-degree horizontal/vertical viewing angles, high resolution, 500/600/1000 cd/m2 high brightness, 1000:1 high contrast ratio, -30 to 80 degrees Celsius operating temperature range, and 100,000 standard hours of LED backlight life. The sales of the new module will begin in August 1st through Mitsubishi Electric offices worldwide.
Introduction of “AMULET” Digital Mammography System, Featuring World’s Smallest Pixel Pitch by Fujifilm
Fujifilm has developed AMULET, a digital mammography system offering world’d smallest pixel pitch of 50 micrometer from a Direct-conversion FPD system. AMULET has been developed based on Fujifilm new Direct Optical Switching technology. Its specially designed AWS (Acquisition Workstation) offers a more effective environment for mammography examination, by offering an integrated X-ray control allowing setting and confirmation of imaging conditions on one screen. Sharp has announced the development of high performance small and medium size LCD panels using oxide semiconductor, InGaZnO. Canon has introduced its first compact cassette size Digital Radiography (DR) systems. Back in 2010 Canon introduced its first wireless DR systems featuring an optimal operability, high resolution and high quality imaging. The newly introduced developed compact wireless DR system features a light weight (approximately 2.5 kg) design with form factor of only 307 (w) x 384 (d) x 15 (h) mm. The new DR system offers an exceptional portability making it idea for use in such discipline as orthopedics, requiring X-rays of hands, elbows, feet and knees in high frequency or during the examination of newborns. Hitachi Displays has developed a 21.3-inch high resolution 5 Mega pixels monochrome LCD modules and a 29.9-inch WQXGA color LCD module based on IPS-Pro technology, featuring an improved brightness, contrast and viewing angle. The monochrome LCD module uses high-transmission IPS, featuring a high resolution, resulting in a maximum brightness of 1200cd/m2 and a contrast ration of 1200:1. In addition to this, the use of 10-bit display drivers on the module plus 3 sub-pixels allows presentation of details in such application as reading mammograms. Read more
Canon announced the development of two new L (Luxury)-series telephoto lenses equipped with a high performance image stabilization system. The new lenses EF500mm f/4L IS II USM and EF600mm f/4L IS II USM are made with fluorite and other special optical materials for addressing variety of aberrations in order to achieve high resolution, high-contrast imaging performance in a lighter weight body design. Development of Two New IR-Corrected High-Resolution Vari-Focal Lenses for Surveillance Cameras by TAMRON
Tamron has just released two new 1/3”-format 3.0-8mm F/1.0 Vari-Focal lenses, which are IR-corrected, delivering 650 TV-lines resolution. The 13VM308ASIRII and 13VG308ASIRII were developed fulfilling market demand for higher quality images and high sensitivity for surveillance cameras. The new lenses come with Asphrical element and an LD (Low Dispersion) glass element. Furthermore, the new lens offer clear images without color smear by way of minimizing chromatic aberration. Additionally, the lenses have been covered with multi-layer coatings as a countermeasure against light reflection. Read more
Oki Semi unveiled its newly developed video decoder LSI, coming in a compact W-CSP package as well as featuring a low power consumption. The newly developed ML86V76652 video decoder is capable of converting the world 3 analog video signal standard, namely NTSC, PAL and SECAM into ITU-R BT.601/BT.656 YCbCr digital format standard. Through adoption of W-CSP compact package, the newly video decoder has achieved a 70% reduction in mounting area compared to 48 pin TQFP. Read more
Sanyo has released a new wide XGA projector, offering the highest brightness in its class of 5,500 lumens, making it ideal for use in lecture halls and large conference rooms. the new projector features a 16:10 aspect ratio Wide XGA (1280 x 800 dot) images, plus the optical efficiency has been improved by 40% in comparison to conventional model. The new projector comes with newly developed optical engine and cooling technologies. FUJIFILM has gone all the way from the advanced 3D digital camera to the stunning 3D digital viewer and breakthrough 3D printing technology.
The FinePix REAL 3D System is equipped with two 10 Mega pixel Fujinon lenses and two CCDs , capable of capturing image at completely different angles from the same scenery producing two images with help of its 3D image processing that are slightly different from each other creating an illusion of depth when a viewer is looking at the display. This is due to our ability in perceiving depth that comes from viewing an object along two different lines of sight. This phenomenon is called parallax. Read more
